Lorrianne Nault

Lorrianne NaultAs the youngest child in a family of eight children, Lorrianne grew up asking unusual questions like “what if clothes updated themselves to always be in style?” or “what if the fridge could automatically restock itself with ice cream when it runs low?” The answers to these questions continue to elude her, but she has never stopped considering the possibilities.

Lorrianne was lured to HCI by a deep desire to provide effortless access to the things people want, when they want them. She is interested in finding new and creative ways to implement context and location-aware technology using both the Web and mobile devices. She is currently intrigued by medical devices and the possibilities of mobile healthcare monitoring. Before coming to Carnegie Mellon, Lorrianne worked in both project management and web design and development. She holds a BFA in Computer Graphics from Syracuse University.

When she's not aspiring to make the world a friendlier place, Lorrianne likes hiking, comedic dancing, and shouting "poor user experience!" in completely inappropriate situations.
